Dr. W. Bruce Howerton, Jr.

Dr. Howerton received a DDS degree from West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 1985. He completed a Certificate in Endodontics from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in 1987 and practiced surgical and nonsurgical endodontics in Asheville, North Carolina. In 1999, he entered the UNC Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology graduate program and completed a Master of Science in 2001. In addition to becoming an Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist, he became proficient in Web development and discovered novel forms of content delivery using authoring software. While serving on the faculty at The UNC School of Dentistry, he presented novel forms of content delivery to faculty, staff, and students, and aided in Web Development. As of December, 2003 Dr. Howerton became a diplomate of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.
From his years of surgical and nonsurgical endodontic experience, Dr. Howerton is intimately familiar with the maxillo-mandibular complex. Together with the knowledge gained during his education at the UNC Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and experience with content delivery authoring software,
Dr. Howerton excels at creating images using computer software and cone beam technology.


Dr. Maria Mora

Dr. Maria Mora received her DDS degree from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia in 2000 and practiced private dentistry for two years before entering into the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology graduate program at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. In 2005 Dr. Mora received the Radiology Centennial Award presented to her by the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and in 2006 received her M.S. degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Dr. Mora's thesis study was entitled "Detection of longitudinal tooth fractures using Local Computed Tomography (LCT)". In December 2006 she became a Diplomate of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.
Together with surgical experience gained during private practice and extensive study of the oral and maxillofacial complex using three dimensional imaging. Dr. Mora excels in oral and maxillofacial interpretation and clear communications with referring dentists/physicians.
